Chinese Evangelical Church of San Diego is a tri-lingual Chinese church. We have Cantonese, Mandarin, and English services. The primary language used in our church wide leadership meeting is English.

Minister or Pastor of Children and Family Ministries

San Diego

Full-time

• Leads and oversees ministry to nursery, preschool, elementary age children and their families
• Partners with parents in a way that supports and equips them in their role as their children’s primary spiritual leaders
• Strives to build quality relationships with volunteers, parents, and families
• Recruits, trains, and partners with adult leaders and parents to serve in the children’s ministry
• Meets regularly with volunteers for planning and support
• Coordinates communication of children & family ministries with staff, volunteers, and parents
• Prepares and maintains budget for Children & Family ministries
• Partners with the pastoral staff to integrate children’s ministry into the church
• Participate in on-going education and training opportunities
• Helps the children’s ministry comply with applicable government regulations

• Has a strong walk with God and a growing relationship with Jesus Christ
• Able to partner with parents in creating environments where children learn to be disciples of Jesus Christ, know Jesus intimately, serve Him selflessly, and share Him passionately
• Exhibits cultural competence in incorporating families across congregations, including families with special needs or circumstances
• Listens and responds to parents and their concerns
• Develops a plan for children and family ministries and implements it
• Encourages and equips volunteer staff
• Is a team player with effective relational and conflict management skills
• Self-starter with a positive attitude
• Communicates clearly and effectively in written and verbal formats
• Possesses education from an accredited Christian college or seminary
• Experience in children’s ministry and working with families
• Agrees with CEC’s statement of faith (cec-sd.org/beliefs)
