History of FEC San Gabriel Valley

First Evangelical Church of San Gabriel Valley was established in June 1, 1986. We have arrived at where we are today by the grace of God and through a long process of planning and organization.

The members of this church are ordinary men and women. But they have discovered the happiness of living as Christians. The majority of them are from East Asia. When you come to our church, you will immediately experience a sense of coming "home", and of acceptance by everyone around you.

The serene and joy-filled Sunday Worship Service will provide you with the strength to face the challenges of the coming week. The loving and experienced pastors will provide useful and positive messages that can help resolve the pressure and problems we all face in our daily living.

After the Worship Service, we pray with people for their individual needs. This has helped many people with physical or spiritual problems. We also form fellowship groups based on area of residence. In a fellowship group you can experience true friendship, caring, comfort, support, the strength of the Gospel and the presence of our Lord.

聖迦谷羅省基督教會成立於一九八六年六月。係格蘭岱爾羅省基督教會在聖迦谷區所拓展成立的教會。歷經28年開拓、組織、擴展之階段，如今有成人及兒童約七百人的規模。

該教會的信徒只是一群普通的人，但他們發現基督徒生活的喜樂，他們絕大多數來自太平洋彼岸的東南亞各地，但血濃於水的鄉土親情，讓許多人到該教會，就立刻感覺到被接納的友誼氣氛。

每主日莊嚴及喜樂的崇拜，能讓你面對未來一週的生活時精神大振。有經驗、有愛心的牧師們所提供的實際及積極的信息，能針對我們所遭遇的壓力及需要。會後為參加者的個別禱告，幫助不少在身、心、靈方面有需要者。目前該會有國、粵、英三堂會，並按照所住的地區劃分許多家庭團契及小組，使你體會到真誠的友誼、關懷、安慰與扶持。

JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES:
1. Provide vision and direction of the congregation in accordance with Senior Pastor’s vision
and direction of the whole church.
2. Provide shepherding and equipping for congregational leaders; Lead congregational leaders
in developing and executing strategic action-plans to inspire and mobilize the whole
congregation, which presently has 80 people, to participate in the shared vision and
mission of FECSGV and FECA.
3. Adhere to the Bylaws, policies and procedures of the Church as set by the Board of Elders.
4. Responsible for the promotion and advancement of the spiritual welfare of the congregation.
5. Served as a member of the Board of Elders.
6. Responsible for all other matters delegated to him/her from time to time by the Senior
Pastor.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Minimum criteria:
1. Minimum of a Master of Divinity Degree or equivalent from an evangelical accredited
seminary.
2. At least 3 years of ministerial experience in a small to medium size multi-congregational,
multi-lingual Church in North America.
3. Stable and mature Christian. Clearly aligns with and follows God’s requirements for pastoral
leadership in the church as described in 1 Timothy 3:2-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
4. Strong relational and teamwork skills. Able to work in a multicultural pastoral team.
Required experience (in order of priority):
1. Primary gift mix is leadership, shepherding, preaching and disciple-making. Able to connect
and relate individually and able to passionately preach the inspired Word of God clearly
with enthusiasm to inspire spiritual growth and alignment of vision.
2. Passionate for evangelism, mission and social concern for both qualitative and quantitative
church growth.
3. Passionate for multi-generational discipleship.
4. Demonstrated experience conveying vision and working through a multi-cultural setting.
5. Fluent in English and understanding of one or more of the following would be a plus but not
required: Cantonese, Mandarin, and Vietnamese.
