South Baton Rouge Church of Christ (SBRCC) is a vibrant and growing body of Christ dedicated to serving our diverse congregation and surrounding community, including two higher education institutions in town (Louisiana State University and Southern University).

The Chinese Ministry of SBRCC was established in 1997 and is dedicated to spreading the Gospel among the Chinese community in Baton Rouge, especially on university campuses. We’re seeking a passionate and dedicated Bi-Lingual Minister to shepherd our Chinese ministry while actively engaging with our American brothers and sisters in faith.

The Bi-Lingual Minister will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to the following:

Integration: Serve as a bridge between the Chinese ministry and the rest of the church. Work with the rest of the church staff to ensure that Chinese brothers and sisters have an integrated experience.

Teaching: Prepare and deliver Sunday classes, focusing on teachings in Chinese and fostering spiritual growth.

Preaching: Lead Chinese worship services, providing inspiring and relevant messages that resonate with the Chinese ministry.

Fellowship: Meet with members to build relationships, discuss ministry issues, and support ministerial needs.

Discipleship: Provide discipleship training to equip and help more brothers and sisters grow, prepare them to lead seekers in Bible studies and enable more people to understand salvation and be reborn to receive salvation.

Visitation: Visit families to offer support, encouragement, and spiritual guidance.

Life Groups: Attend regular life groups to foster connections and engage in small group discussions. Participate in life groups, encouraging intergenerational relationships and ministry participation.

Doctrine: Agree with the mission, vision, and value of South Baton Rouge Church of Christ (https://www.sbrcc.org/core-beliefs)

Education: Seminary graduate (preferably Th.M.)

A deep understanding of Scripture and a passion for teaching and preaching.

Communication: Fluency in both Chinese and English. Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to shepherd and care for church members.

Prior experience as a full-time minister, especially in a bilingual or multicultural setting, is preferred.

Ability to create a welcoming environment for both English and Chinese-speaking congregants.

Permanent residency or US citizenship is preferred but not required.
