Background
Rev. Liu was born in Tainan, Taiwan. He is married and has two grown sons. His wife, Joyce, served for many years in Academic Affairs at China Evangelical Seminary in North America and LOGOS Evangelical Seminary in Taiwan.
After graduating from high school in 1976, he studied Social Services at Tainan Theological Seminary and later served with the Tainan YMCA, leading community programs, camps, and service activities. In 1986, he earned a Master of Arts in Religion (M.A.R.) from China Evangelical Seminary. In 1990, he pursued further theological studies at Logos Evangelical Seminary and International Theological Seminary, earning an M.Div. and Th.M. He received his D.Min. from LOGOS Evangelical Seminary in 2008.
Rev. Liu specializes in marriage and family counseling and training. He has received professional training in crisis intervention, clinical pastoral education (CPE), hospice care, leadership development, and post-disaster stress counseling (CISM), and is a certified marriage counselor in China.
During his years in the United States, he served as Senior Pastor of Minnesota and Peace Evangelical Formosan Churches, Director of Counseling and Training for Chinese Family for Christ, Pastor of the Mandarin Congregation at San Gabriel Valley Evangelical Formosan Church, and Director of the Agape Caring Center.
In 2014, he returned to Taiwan and served as Vice President, Dean of Students, and Assistant Professor of Practical Theology at LOGOS Evangelical Seminary. He currently serves as Dean of Students at LOGOS Evangelical Seminary.
