Diploma in Christian Studies
Equip believers with a solid foundation in essential Christian theology, deepen their understanding of the faith and spiritual life, and prepare them to serve more effectively in churches and Christian ministries while continuing to grow in faith and ministry.
Purpose
Designed to provide lay Christians and bivocational ministry leaders serving in churches or Christian organizations with a solid foundation in essential theological studies.

Equip students with the theological foundation and practical preparation needed to deepen their faith and serve more effectively.
Who It Is For
Church leaders, elders and deacons, ministry co-workers, Sunday school teachers, fellowship counselors, short-term mission workers, and those who have taken early retirement to devote themselves fully to Christian ministry.
Admission Requirements
- Graduated from a recognized four-year college, university, or seminary with a bachelor’s degree or higher, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.67 (B- or 80%).
- Must be a born-again Christian and have been baptized for at least two years.
- Demonstrated Christian character and spiritual maturity, with recommendations from two pastors or church leaders. Applicants residing in mainland China must provide at least one recommendation from an overseas reference and one from a church pastor.
- Able to understand Mandarin Chinese.
- Proof of English proficiency: TOEFL score of 470/52 (TOEFL iBT) or higher, IELTS score of 5.5 or higher, or Duolingo English Test score of 80 or higher. English test scores are valid for two years and must be retaken after expiration. Applicants who have earned a degree from an institution where instruction was conducted entirely in English, or who have lived in North America for more than 20 years, may be exempt from this requirement. Other forms of equivalent English proficiency may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Program Duration and Location
Full-time students can complete the certificate in one year. Part-time students may take courses at their own pace, with up to five years to complete the program.
Required Credits
Old Testament Studies (6), New Testament Studies (6), Theology (3), and Practical Ministry (3). The remaining 6 credits may be selected according to the student’s interests or ministry needs.
Program Highlights
Students who complete 24 credits will receive a Certificate in Christian Studies. The program offers a flexible course schedule, allowing students to choose courses according to their availability without having to leave their current employment.
All credits earned in the certificate program are graduate-level credits. Students who are subsequently admitted to a master’s program at LOGOS Evangelical Seminary may apply to transfer these credits toward their degree, subject to applicable transfer policies.
