Formation Courses
Course Overview
All new students must complete this course through My Courses in the Seminary’s Populi system within 30 days of the start of the term: by July 1 for fall entrants and by December 1 for spring entrants. Students must watch the videos in all six lessons, share and respond to at least one classmate’s reflection in the Discussions forum, and submit a reflection paper of approximately 1,000 Chinese characters.
Course Content
Understanding Your Calling and Role as a Servant of God
- Encouraging seminary students and ministers to practice healthy self-care.
- Exploring the challenges faced by those in ministry and ways to respond to them.
- Addressing personal growth, emotional health, spiritual renewal, family life and ministry, relationships with church members, and a faithful heart for ministry.
Learning Objectives
- Understand your identity, role, and calling before God.
- Learn to care for your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being amid the demands of academic study and ministry.
- Develop a healthy balance between family and ministry.
- Build healthy relationships in ministry.
- Discover principles for sustaining a lifelong ministry.
- Through intentional formation and preparation, become healthy, confident, and faithful servants as seminary students and ministers.
