What Is an F-1 Student?
- An F-1 student visa is a nonimmigrant student visa issued by the U.S. government to international students pursuing full-time study at a U.S. college, university, or graduate school. Non-U.S. citizens and nonpermanent residents who wish to enroll full-time in a degree program at LOGOS Evangelical Seminary must obtain an F-1 student visa to enter the United States.
LOGOS Issues Form I-20
- LOGOS Evangelical Seminary is authorized by the U.S. government to enroll international students and issue Form I-20.
- Form I-20 is required to apply for an F-1 student visa. After admission, students must submit an I-20 request to the Seminary. The I-20 will be issued after the request has been reviewed and approved.

U.S. Study and Visa Requirements
Whether you need an F-1 student visa depends on whether you will study a degree program in the United States as a student.
- Students taking online courses from outside the United States do not need an F-1 visa.
- Students planning to enter the United States to pursue a degree program must enter on an F-1 student visa.
- Students entering the United States on a B1/B2 visitor visa may not enroll in a degree program.
- Study eligibility may vary by visa type. Please refer to the USCIS/ICE guidance for specific requirements.

Important Reminder
An I-20 is not the same as an F-1 visa. Students must first obtain an I-20, pay the SEVIS I-901 fee, and then apply for an F-1 student visa through a U.S. embassy or consulate.
