1. What are Library’s opening hours? (Renovation)

During Fall and Spring semesters, Library opening hours will be:
-Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:30 am to 8:3o pm
-Wednesday: 1:30 pm to 8:30 pm
-Friday: 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
-Saturday: 9:30 am  to 5:30 pm
Library will be closed for public holidays, Seminary-wide events, Wednesday Chapel  and Sunday.

During the Summer and Winter breaks, please refer to the notice at library entrance or the library calendar.

2. How can I find LOGOS Evangelical Seminary Library location and map? (Renovation)

3. What is the telephone number for library front desk?

Tel: 626-571-5110 ext. 5  or  ext. 143.

4. Does the library provide photocopying service?

Yes. Self-service copying machine is available in room 906, in front of the circulation desk.

5. Where is the library public printer located?

Library public printer is located at Electronic Bible tools area.

6. Does the seminary have affiliated bookstore?

The  U.S. Tien Dao Books is located in the seminary’s El Monte campus ,but is not affiliated to the seminary.

7. How many Library items can I check out?

Borrowing privileges vary according to patron category. Logos graduate students may borrow up to 20 Chinese books and 30 English books in total. Other patrons may borrow up to 5 Chinese and 5 English books in total. Generally, loan period is 21 days.

8. How do I renew books?

Patron may login to their library account to renew books.

9. How do I renew Sunday school materials and media items?

Media and Sunday School Materials are not renewable.

10. How many times Library’s materials can be renewed?

Each book may be renewed once if it is not being held/reserved by others.

11. How do I put hold or reserve book?

Patrons may login to their library accounts to place “hold” onto a book, “hold” is only available for the books that are checked out by other patrons at the time.

12. After graduated, can I still borrow library materials?

Yes. Graduating students can still access library with their student card until the end of their graduated year. Returning alumni are eligible for borrowing privilege from Logos Library.  Library only accepting Library ID application Monday through Friday, 10am – 5pm with $5 application fee. Alumni may borrow up to 5 Chinese and 5 English books in total. The loan period is 21 days. For media collection, single volume tape checkout limit to two, multi-volume title checkout limit to one set only.

13. Can I borrow books from the library if I am not a Logos student, faculty, or staff?

Eligible Library user beside student, faculty and staff, please present relevant documents or identity card for the proof of your status.

1. LTI students with proof of current registration.
2. Logos Evangelical Seminary Board of Trustee members
3. Alumni included D.Min., Th.M., M.Div., M.A., Diploma and EFC lay minister programs.
4. All Evangelical Formosan Church (EFC) ministers and EFC local church elders and deacons who are in charge of the Education ministry.
5. Members of the Greater Los Angeles Chinese Ministerial Association (GLACMA).
6. Students authorized by members of the Southern California Area Theological Library Association (SCATLA).

Library only accepting Library ID application Monday through Friday, 10am – 5pm with $5 application fee. All the categories mentioned above may borrow up to 5 Chinese and 5 English books in total. The loan period is 21 days. For media collection, single volume tape checkout limit to two, multi-volume title checkout limit to one set only. Does not include the use of online databases.

14. Can alumni access Library’s databases?

No. Online databases are only provided to our staff and student.

15. Can pastors/clergy borrow books from LOGOS Library?

Minister who are members of the Greater Los Angeles Chinese Ministerial Association (GLACMA) are eligible for borrowing privilege from Logos Library. 16. How do I print my paper?

Students must apply a printing account from IT Department in order to use printer service in the library. Non-student may request printing service from library staff.
Printing over 100 pages are not accepted in library. Students may go to the computer center, outsiders please use printing services from outside company.

17. Can I print from my laptop in the library?

Started from September 2014, we provide print service through your personal laptop computer to the library public printer.
Please log in your printing account through the Webprint App.

18. Can I use Wi-Fi service in the Library?

WiFi is passwords protected, services are only available to staff and students only.

19. How do I borrow course reserves book?

>> Procedure to check out course reserves book

(1). Please submit a request slip with call number, name, title and borrowing time.
(2). Give the request slip to staff and signify whether it is for master degrees or D.Min. course. Request only acceptable with a present of request slip.
(3). Please return reserved books to the “Return” box at the circulation desk; patron may ask for their request slip back for future use.
(4). Patrons may reserve for same day overnight borrowing early in the morning on first come first serve basic. Book can be checked out two hours prior to closing. If the first registrant did not pick out the reserved book after 10 minutes, the reserve right will goes to the second registrant. (Time will be based on the clock at library main entrance)

20. Can I request interlibrary loan (ILL) service ?

The ILL service extends to current Logos Evangelical Seminary full-time faculties and current enrolled and course attending full-time and part-time students including Master degrees in MDiv, MACS, MAFM, and ThM and Doctoral degrees in PhD. and DMin. 21. Are there interlibrary loan (ILL) services available between El Monte campus with other branches?

No, El Monte campus library, Chicago branch library and Taiwan branch library operate independently to serve their local student.

22. What is my user name / login name?

User name or login name was filled in by patron when they sent in the application. It could be same as the name used in their email account, or the barcode number at the back of the library ID card.

23. I forgot my password!

The initial password is the last 4 digits of your phone number.
