Statement of Faith

Through biblical teaching, spiritual formation, and humble learning, we are committed to equipping servants of Christ who are deeply rooted in faith, mature in character, and faithful witnesses to the gospel in their generation.

We Believe

  1. The Holy Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired and infallible Word of God. They reveal God’s complete plan of salvation and are the supreme authority for Christian faith and life.
  2. The one eternal God exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  3. The Triune God created, sustains, and sovereignly governs the entire universe. He existed before all creation and is distinct from all that He has created.
  4. Adam, the first man, was created in the image of God. Through his sin against God, however, he lost his original innocence and brought condemnation and death upon himself and his descendants. Humanity therefore stands in need of redemption and is utterly unable to save itself.
  5. In His love and mercy, God provided redemption for humanity after the Fall and established a covenant of grace with His people. God not only promised but actually gave Jesus Christ as Savior, so that all who trust in Him may be justified and receive eternal life.
  6. Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, sent by God the Father, conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a life of sinless obedience and suffered and was crucified for His people who believe in Him. God raised Him from the dead and exalted Him as Lord and Christ, and bestowed the promised Holy Spirit upon the Church.
  7. Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Redeemed sinners become the people of God and inherit eternal life. Jesus Christ is the only Mediator between God and humanity, and it is through Him alone that we may come to the Father.
  8. Believers are new creations in Christ and are called to walk by the Holy Spirit, to die to sin and live unto righteousness, to follow the example of Christ, and to bear the fruit of the Spirit. Good works are the responsibility of the Christian life, but they are not the basis of justification.
  9. God alone is Lord of the conscience. In matters of faith and conduct, believers are free from all human commandments that are contrary to Scripture or that impose requirements beyond Scripture.
  10. All true believers belong to Christ, are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, constitute the Body of Christ, and together form the invisible Church. In Christ, the Church is holy, universal, and one. The invisible Church is manifested through the visible Church. The local church consists of all who believe in Christ, confess Him, and receive baptism as the people of God and a kingdom of priests. The Church is called to grow toward the fullness of Christ and, through the exercise of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, to fulfill its missionary calling through worship, the sacraments, fellowship, discipline, service, and witness.
  11. All believers are priests, and ordained ministers and lay believers serve together in unity.
  12. At the end of the age, Christ will return personally and bodily to judge the living and the dead. The dead will be bodily raised. Believers, through the Holy Spirit, will inherit eternal life, while unbelievers will face condemnation, and the new heaven and new earth will begin.
